Text: Romans 9 – As we continue with our series in the book of Romans, we come to a section of the book that contains some challenging teaching on the doctrine of election. Theologians have debated these passages for centuries but, as Pastor Russ reminds us, we need to allow God’s Word to speak for itself. When we challenge God, we risk demonstrating irreverence toward Him or we risk elevating ourselves to be the author of truth which amounts to idolatry. In this message, Pastor Russ highlight’s Paul’s main theme – that God is sovereign and that he is faithful and when it comes to our relationship with him, it’s not about our performance as much as it is about His activity in our lives fulfilling all his purposes. We need to let God be God.
