Grace Church is growing, and so is our calling to make space for more people to find community and encounter Jesus. Every week, new faces walk through our doors—people searching for belonging, purpose, and truth. As our church family expands, so must our space.

The Make Space campaign is a bold step of faith God has called us to, ensuring our church remains a home for all who seek hope and transformation. This initiative isn't just about buildings—it's about people. By expanding and improving our spaces, we are making room for more lives to be changed. Join us in creating a place where more stories of hope can begin.

Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralysed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

Creating New Kids & Youth Spaces

Moving from dated & inadequate spaces

to intentional & appealing spaces

We will create dedicated spaces for babies and preschoolers and dynamic shared spaces for elementary through high school students. These will be spaces where your children and grandchildren can develop godly relationships with friends and be mentored by small group leaders who point them to Jesus. This space will be not only for your children to grow in their faith and community, but also a space to invite their friends to explore faith and have fun.

The next generation is critical to our mission. Therefore, it’s our goal to see every child and teenager develop a passionate faith in Jesus that lasts a lifetime.

Opening Multi-Use Spaces

Moving from impersonal to inviting spaces

As we reach more people who have little to no Christian background, we need spaces that are used beyond Sunday services. We need a hub for community, faith, and transformation where people participate in Next Steps classes, 12 Step Christianity, Alpha, etc. Our Multi-Use rooms will be spaces where friends and neighbours gather, ministries grow, and countless individuals can connect with an authentic community.

Everyone deserves a space to belong, explore faith, and grow spiritually.

Opening More Office Space

Moving from isolated to collaborative workspaces

Untitled design (4).png
Untitled design (4).png
With a growing staff team, we need to create effective workspaces so that we can collaborate in closer proximity to each other. By moving all staff offices to the same side of the building and creating both collaborative and quiet workspaces, our projects can flourish, and everything from simple tasks to discipleship to counseling can be accomplished effectively

Making Spaces Accessible to Everyone

Moving from inaccessible to accessible spaces

No one should miss out on the opportunity to encounter Jesus and a life-changing community because they physically cannot access our facilities. An elevator will provide access to both levels in the basement, and new accessible washrooms will be added. We will “dig through the roof” to make our church accessible for everyone to hear about the hope of Jesus.

How Do We Get There?

Our goal is for everyone who calls Grace Church home to participate financially in the Make Space campaign. It's not about equal giving but equal sacrifice, where each person takes up their ‘corner of the mat.’ The chart below shows just one way that we could reach our $1,600,000 goal together. Prayerfully consider what part you will play.

The Goal:   $1.6 million

Untitled design (4).png

by December 2026

Untitled design (4).png
  • How much is the Make Space campaign aiming to raise?
We aim to raise $1,600,000 above and beyond our regular giving from April 13, 2025, through December 31, 2026.
  • What is an "initial gift"?
The initial gift is a one-time contribution to kick things off. We encourage an initial gift on April 13, 2025, hoping to receive at least $400,000 on this day, alongside your pledges, to start Make Space with strong financial momentum.
  • How was the fundraising goal determined?
Our leadership team prayerfully set the goal based on the projected costs of the initiatives after considering the capital we have on hand to invest in this project.
  • What if the financial goal isn't reached or is exceeded?
If we do not meet the goal, we must prayerfully prioritise the work to ensure funds are allocated to the most impactful areas. If we exceed the goal, the funds will help to accelerate the renovation of our main floor.
  • How can I give?
You can make contributions weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly, or lump sum—whatever suits you best. Visit www.gracechurch.ca/MakeSpace for giving tools and more information.
  • Are gifts to the Make Space campaign tax-deductible?
Yes, all contributions to Grace Church are tax-deductible, including those made toward Make Space.
  • What will the funds be used for?
Funds raised will support the renovations of about 9000 sq/ft of basement space. The upgrades will include the four initiatives mentioned in this magazine.
  • Can I donate stocks?
Yes, we understand that financial situations can change. You can adjust your pledge at any time by contacting our finance team at finance@gracechurch.ca.
  • What is a financial pledge?
A pledge is a commitment to give, reflecting a step of faith in what you believe God is calling you to contribute, and a helpful planning tool for our church leadership.
  • Who can I talk to if I have more questions?
For any further questions, please email our Make Space team at makespace@gracechurch.ca or ask one of the staff on a Sunday after a service.
  • When will the construction start?
We plan to do the work in the summer of 2026, depending on where we are with our fundraising goal.
  • Can I adjust my pledge if my financial situation changes?
Yes, we understand that financial situations can change. You can adjust your pledge at any time by contacting our finance team at finance@gracechurch.ca.
  • How will I know how the campaign is progressing?
We will provide regular updates through our church services, emails, and the website, keeping our church community informed about the progress and impact of their generosity.
  • Why is the Make Space initiative important?
The Make Space initiative is crucial for expanding our ministry's reach and impact, enabling us to serve more people in our community (especially children and youth) and beyond through updated facilities, programs, and services.
  • Are you renovating the main floor?
Over the long term, we plan to do a next phase where the lobby, washrooms, and kitchen will also be updated. In this first phase, we are relocating offices and the boardroom so the lobby can be enlarged at a later time. Currently, the only change to the main floor will be the addition of the elevator.
  • Am I expected to give money?
Visitors are not required or expected to give. At Grace, we give of our finances as a form of obedience and worship to God, trusting in his continuous provision personally and in our church. There is an opportunity to give at the end of each service for those who call Grace home and want to support what we are doing.
  • I was at a service, what is next for me?
Every Sunday during the 11:00 am service, we have Next Steps classes that help you get more connected at Grace. These classes teach you about what we believe, your personality style and gifting and where you can use that at Grace, what it means to follow Jesus, and practical tools to grow in your relationship with God.
  • Can I bring my kids?
All kids from infants to Grade 8 are invited to Kids Church every Sunday. Kids in Grade 5 and younger are required to be checked in and out by whomever is responsible for them. Those in Grades 6-8 can check themselves in and out. Check-In opens 20 minutes before each service downstairs in our Kids Church space. To get downstairs, go through the door to your left after entering the building through the sliding doors. There will be many friendly volunteers to help you once you are downstairs. Click the button to learn more.
  • Will I be called out or asked to identify myself as a visitor?
You will never be asked to stand up or stand out in any way. We want your time at Grace to be comfortable and welcoming. If you are interested in staying connected at Grace, you can visit the INFO Desk in the lobby after the service and fill out a connection card.
  • Can I check a service out online first?
Yes, we welcome you to check out our YouTube live stream to get an idea of what you can expect from a Sunday morning service.
  • What happens after the service?
You are welcome to stay after the service and hang out with us over a cup of coffee or tea. If you have any questions or want to stay connected, visit one of our lovely hosts at the INFO Desk.
  • What should I wear on a Sunday?
People at Grace typically dress casually. You will see people wearing anything from sweat pants to jeans to dresses. You are welcome to wear whatever you are comfortable with.
  • What can I expect when I arrive?
There is lots of room in our parking lot for you to come and park your car. Then make your way to the sliding door entrance. There, you will be welcomed by our friendly greeters. There is an INFO Desk in the lobby where you can ask any questions you may have. After you arrive, you are welcome to visit in the lobby over a warm beverage or make your way into the auditorium. Once in the auditorium, there will be ushers to help you find a seat.
  • Do I need to bring a Bible?
You are welcome to bring your own Bible or device for reading but are not expected or required to. The portions of the Bible that are read during the service will be available on the screen for you to follow along.
  • What is the music like?
Our worship music is contemporary in style and led by a band. You are welcome to worship in a way that is comfortable for you, whether that be raising your hands, clapping, sitting or standing etc.
  • How long are the worship services?
Our worship services are around 70 minutes. The message is around 35 minutes long. All messages can be found on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts if you want to check one out.
